Afterburner
Boost Organic matter plant food, fertilizer and soil conditioner with humus for the garden, lawn and flower beds. Our farming passion puts us in touch with many like minded folks, some of which are the Huls families, who own and operate the Huls Dairy right here in Corvallis. I have had the pleasure of touring their amazing facility, and witnessing the digester as it formed from an idea that was difficult for me to grasp to an operational facility, that is giving back to the community by generating green electricity. From this digester, Huls Dairy is now selling the organic fertilizer products that have completed the digestion process for us to use in our lawn, garden and on our flower beds, etc. and it is a product we can apply directly without fear of burning the plants we want to flourish, and in the summer heat it helps hold the moisture, not cause evaporation by chemical drought. Folks, it’s the poop, the whole poop, and nothin’ but the poop! But! Isn’t there always a ‘but?’ As this poop proceeds through the digester, all the seeds in the manure are destroyed. I have used  poop from the
corral, and I surely got a bigger crop of weeds than I did flowers,
creating a batch of extra work, and I am thrilled with this
discovery! They have conveniently
packaged this product for us in 1.5 cu/ft (about 40 pound) bags so it is easy to
handle and apply. If you need large quantities, they will load your
pickup, trailer, or truck, or they will deliver a minimum of 4 cubic
yards @ 25.00 per yard with a small delivery charge based on the
mileage from the dairy, directly. Having married into my husband’s family of farmers, I have learned so much since 1996 about agriculture. Something interesting that I have heard my father in law say many times to folks that wish to employ our custom farming services is that soil is like a bank account. If there is no money in the bank, you can’t draw any out. The same is true of soil. If you don’t add organic content and nourish the soil – you don’t get anything out-production or nutrition. I have heard him comment that in Pennsylvania where he began his farming career, the soil was ‘farmed out’ with the pilgrims. Translated, I interpret that to mean that if you don’t make a concerted effort to keep on top of your soil inventory, you might grow those potatoes in Granny’s garden spot – the one she has been planting for 40 years now- but without giving something back to our precious soil, those potatoes will be smaller, fewer, and can’t possibly give us minerals and vitamins that are not available for the plant to intake. I believe Afterburner Boost is a high quality product that will be hard pressed to beat when compared with those products offered commercially. seek out this locally produced fertilizer. Huls Dairy spends money
in our local economy to employ personnel, and to purchase goods and
services. Those are locally produced dollars, spent in our home town
community. It has never been more important to ‘support the little
guy’ and buy ‘Made in America’ goods. And while I am a loyal K Mart
shopper, I hope we set convenience aside, and even if it takes
another stop to acquire the product, that we make the effort.
